Call for Presentations: Healthcare Documentation Integrity Conference

AHDI's 2014 Healthcare Documentation Integrity Conference will be held in Las Vegas at The M Resort, July 23—26. We invite dynamic industry experts, educators, practitioners, and authors to submit a proposal to speak at the conference. More information is available online. The deadline is January 15, 2014.

President’s Address—Industry Insight

Last month I attended the AHIMA Health Information Integrity Summit in Alexandria, Virginia, as part of National Health Information Technology Week. Attendees were primarily health information management professionals from around the country with an interest in the integrity of patient records and data. Just to give you an idea of the subjects being discussed, I plugged my notes into a word cloud generator and came up with the graphic shown. As you can see, the focus was mainly on data and information governance, but there were several other phrases that seemed to come up often, so I will highlight those for you. Read more.

New RHDS and CHDS Logos Unveiled

AHDI’s rebranding of the credentialing exams is well underway. We’re delighted to present the new logos for the Registered and Certified Healthcare Documentation Specialist credentials, developed by the Credentialing Commission for Healthcare Documentation (CCHD) and designed by Commission Chair Lea Sims, CMT, AHDI-F.

The logos feature a tree to represent a person’s commitment to professional growth and learning. They offer a visual “seal of approval” to reinforce the important role healthcare documentation specialists serve in as a member of the healthcare team. The wording at the top of each logo supports the professionals certified level 1 or level 2 knowledge in health information integrity.
