Shock and disbelief are the immediate emotions commonly experienced when news of the unexpected death of a friend or a loved one is announced. Many of us who knew Susan Pierce were indeed stunned by the news of her death, caused by a massive stroke February 2. It is unbelievable that someone who was so full of life and generous in spirit could be gone so quickly. Because of the many contributions she has made to the association and the profession, it is appropriate that individually and collectively we reflect on our memories of Susan Pierce, our friend and colleague.
